Driving the two innovation leaders’ collaboration is Tosibox’s belief that it has much to gain from LAPP’s expertise in the industrial automation and communications, as well as its strong regional presence in Asia, to help it reach engineers and technical users in markets where it is not represented.
We believe that this partnership will make Tosibox products accessible to markets which previously may have not been exposed or be able to obtain the technology. Fitting like a glove into the range of solutions within LAPP’s existing product portfolio, Tosibox products remove the boundaries for inter-connectivity without the complexity.

Below is a success story of a power plant company in Finland, for which similar solutions may be explored and implemented in the Asia Pacific region.
Resolving Several Challenges for
a Global Boiler & Power Plant Supplier
To facilitate clean energy production via its boiler and power plants for clients located across countries in Europe, Finnish company KPA Unicon had to ensure reliable service from its control room in Finland, and collect real-time data from its systems with a ten-millisecond accuracy. In addition, some of its equipment utilized did not support Layer 3, and thus required a Layer 2 option.
The modular and secure nature of TOSIBOX® IoT connectivity technology happened to meet these challenges. Not only did the solution enable remote monitoring for KPA Unicon’s plants around the world, it also enhanced the network’s security with its simplified structure.
Located at geographically different points, each of KPA Unicon’s plants is secured by TOSIBOX® Lock, and creates the accessibility to employees and other users via TOSIBOX® Keys, as defined by the Central Lock Hub in its Finland data center. TOSIBOX® can also support site-to-site (Layer 2) connections, ensuring compatibility with all industrial automation brands and providers in the market.
Synergizing Data for Greater Possibilities
Over 1.2 million lines are stored every hour by KPA Unicon’s central hub via TOSIBOX®, which is almost 29 million lines per day!
Thanks to real-time data collected from its plants located in different geographic locations around the world, KPA Unicon can now offer remote monitoring and plant communications via remote access for its clients. On top of synergizing data for more insightful prediction, the company can also now explore new service concepts, such as tracking plants’ key performance figures on mobile devices, and the real-time monitoring of its devices’ life cycle and predictive maintenance.
